Your donations are what keeps IRO going. Every donation helps, no matter how small: just five US dollars is enough to feed a dog or cat for 4 to 5 days.

Unless specified otherwise, monetary donations are divided between the following budgets:

  • Mini Rescue Center (care and feeding of animals, renovations/improvements, cleaning/maintenance supplies)
  • Construction fund toward the permanent Rescue Center in Danao
  • Fundraising events (printing costs of posters and signs, booth rentals, electricity, misc. charges associated with events)
  • Education (printing costs of flyers, handouts and posters)
  • Miscellaneous operating expenses; mainly reimbursement of some personal expendatures by IRO members, documented by receipts, for IRO business (typically repayment for fuel consumed when using personal vehicles to travel to adoption home inspections.)
Breakdown of current expendatures

We do NOT use IRO funds for any purpose other than helping animals. We are an entirely volunteer-based organization with no paid employees at this time. (Note: this may change soon as we plan to hire a daytime caretaker for the mini rescue center.) Our members, officers and Board of Trustees serve with no renumeration (save the abovementioned reimbursements).

IRO actively seeks local donations of supplies and materials to save money: items such as building materials, pet food, medical and cleaning supplies. This means that your donation dollars stretch farther and help more animals. (Note to businesses, companies and corporations: we could always use goods and services. Consider agreeing to regularly donate products such as are previously mentioned (even those which have expired but are still good are acceptable) or your professional services. In return, we will add your business to our list of IRO friends and sponsors and thank you publically in Facebook where it may be seen by thousands of people.)

If you would prefer that your cash donation go toward a specific budget or budgets rather than being divided amongst them all, simply state that in the "Purpose" field on the PayPal page when you donate and we will gladly honor your request. If you would like to donate toward the care and feeding of a specific animal, please consider joining our Ninong/Ninang Program. Otherwise you may make a one-time donation toward the care of a particular animal if you wish.

IRO can also use used but clean and still good items such as rags, old blankets, towels, food and water bowls, collars, leashes and harnesses, as well as new dog and cat toys, snacks and treats for the animals at the Rescue Center. Also, we hold an annual "garage sale" to raise funds, as well as bake sales, various other sales and bazaars throughout the year, so please consider clearing your storage areas and donating used (or even new) items to IRO. Don't forget to watch our schedule of events and shop with us.

Thank you for supporting IRO.
