It Takes a Village

"It takes a village to help animals in Cebu!" IRO is out of kennel space at its Mini Rescue Center so is unable to accept any more rescued animals for now, so besides promoting adoptions we've started our "It Takes A Village" campaign to promote rescues performed and sponsored by our individual members. This section highlights some of our member's rescues.

Vincent's Story


Vincent is a young dog, still a puppy really, that was shot by a pellet rifle and left paralyzed in his hind legs. After that, he was also hit by a car! An animal lover notified IRO but because our rescue center is full to capacity we were unable to rescue him as an official IRO recue. Nonetheless, our Rescue Team members decided to try to save Vincent on their own. They immediately took him to a veterinary clinic to be checked out. Tests and x-rays were done, and pain reliever was given as Vincent was suffering a great deal...

Fuente


Fuente is a puppy that was found in the park at Fuente Osmeña Rotunda, Cebu City, on 13 June, 2011 by Nena Hernandez. Fuente was being fed and cared for by Mr. Romelio, who works in the park and is an animal lover, having already rescued nine dogs on his own! Nena will act as Fuente's ninang and assure that he gets whatever medical care is needed, and that he's eventually placed in a good home. Fuente had a mild case of sarcoptic mange, for which he's undergone treatment and been kept in quarantine until it's no longer contagious. Other...
