Meet Maddie!
This sweet momma dog is looking for an emotional support human to help her adjust to family life after retiring from having puppies and overcoming abandonment in Puerto Rico. Maddie and her puppies were rescued from a secluded area in PR where food was scarce. They were brought to our sanctuary, where they received medical care, proper nutrition, and a safe environment.
Maddie is about 28 lbs now, spayed, around 2-5 years old, and full of love, ready for a forever home.
She enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from having an emotional support dog to help her feel more confident. Maddie is bonding with her foster dad through leash training.
She does well on car rides but hasn't been exposed to children. Given her past experiences and cautious nature around people, we recommend a home with older children who are calm and gentle.
